Agreeing to these terms

These terms apply when you create a Spouz account or use the app. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information. If you don’t agree to these terms, don’t use Spouz.

Who can use Spouz

To use Spouz, you must:

  • be 18 or older
  • be free to marry, and be here to find a spouse
  • have only one account, and use it only for yourself

Your profile and our review

  • Everything in your profile must be true, and every photo must be of you. Your selfie must be taken by you, when the app asks for it.
  • Before you can send interests or messages, a member of our team reviews your profile and selfie. We can approve it, ask you to change something, or decline it. We can also review a profile again later and withdraw approval.
  • The Verified badge means our team has reviewed and approved a profile. It isn’t an identity check, and we can’t guarantee that what members say about themselves is true.
  • Keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens in your account.

Your guardian’s details

When you add your guardian (wali), you confirm that they have agreed to their name, their relationship to you and their phone number being shared with the members you match with.

How to treat other members

Treat every member with respect. Don’t:

  • harass, threaten, insult or pressure anyone
  • send sexual or explicit content, or make sexual advances
  • ask anyone for money, or promote a business, scheme or service
  • pretend to be someone else, or use someone else’s photos
  • share another member’s photos, messages or details, including their guardian’s details, outside Spouz without their permission
  • involve anyone under 18 in any way
  • copy, scrape or automate Spouz, or interfere with how it works

Interests, matches and chat

  • You can use up to 10 interests a day. Sending an interest and accepting one each use one of them.
  • A match happens only when both of you accept. Only then can you chat, see each other’s guardian details, and see clear photos of a member who blurs theirs.
  • Either of you can remove the connection at any time.
  • Blocking or reporting a member ends your match and deletes your chat with them.

Meeting safely

Spouz helps you find and talk to potential spouses; what happens after that is up to you and your families. Involve your guardian, meet in public places, and never send money to someone you’ve met on Spouz. We can’t control, and aren’t responsible for, how members behave on or off Spouz.

Reports and enforcement

You can report a member from their profile or from your chat. Reports are anonymous. We can remove content, decline or withdraw approval of a profile, or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. We may report illegal activity to the authorities.

Your content

You own what you add to Spouz. You allow us to store it and show it to other members in the ways the app describes, only to run the service. This ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies in our backups, which are deleted within 30 days.

Fees

Spouz is free to use. If we add paid features, we’ll show their price and terms in the app before you pay for anything.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time. Delete your account explains how. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

Disclaimers

Spouz is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and safe, but we can’t promise that it will always be available or free of errors, or that you’ll find a spouse through it. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the law where you live that can’t be taken away.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If you keep using Spouz after that, the new terms apply.
